Cliff Carvings at Moya

An important discovery by archeologists affiliated with the Zhuhai Museum in October 1989 revealed the cliff carvings at Moya as relics from the Bronze Age. They are located at Mirror Bay, Gaolan, west of Zhuhai.

It is fascinating to see the carvings, such as people, boats, snakes, birds, deer and many drawings of intricate patterns. The scenery is filled with many people, men and women, some of whom are standing or lying down, or running, or dancing. The images are so vivid and so mysterious. The carvings depict the primitive humans totem poles of customs, daily activities, as well as art.

The Mirror Bay Petroglyphs Series are of extremely important value and are preserved as Zhuhai Cultural Relics Site for Protection since 1989.
